Power yoga
Power yoga is a powerful and dynamic yoga lesson in which different postures are seamlessly connected by flowing movements.
During this lesson you will work on flexibility, strength and endurance, with a strong emphasis on breathing. An important part of the lesson is the (moving) meditation, which helps you to stay focused, even when the movements and postures are intense and heavy. This meditation is woven throughout the entire class, which brings you out of your head and into your body, which ultimately leads to relaxation after exertion.
The first part of the lesson is powerful and dynamic, with extra attention paid to strengthening your core through targeted exercises. The last part of the lesson can contain more Yin elements, where the postures are held longer and the focus shifts from muscles to connective tissue and energy channels. The quiet final meditation ensures deep relaxation, and it can be nice to bring an extra jacket to stay warm.
This lesson is accessible to all levels, so everyone can participate, regardless of experience.
