Tennis

Our tennis courses take place on the all-weather tennis courts at Olympos. Olympos and tennis club TC de Uithof are working together in offering these courses. When you participate in a course you will have lessons once a week during a set day and time.

Levels

• Basic tennis training: for beginners. You learn the basic techniques of tennis like forehand, backhand, service, volley, smash and the primary tactics for singles and doubles play. If this is your first tennis course ever, than this course is for you. If you want to follow the basic training, you must enter "beginner" on the registration form with the question about playing strength.
• Tennis training: for advanced players (level 9 to 1). You have learned the basics or have followed tennis courses before. You learn special techniques and combinations. You will also learn more tactics for competitive play.

Availability

• The course period during the summer is from 1 July 2024 to 8 September 2024. A maximum of 10 lessons (1 lesson a week) are offered during this period. The lessons are 60 minutes and are given on two tennis courts in groups of 9 persons maximum.

Registration and placement courses

• The registration for the autumn period opens on Monday 5 August 2024 and closes on Friday 23 August 2024, the placement is made thereafter. Before the placement will be checked if you have an OlymPas and applied for the tennis course or if you're a member of TC de Uithof. Please note: this has to be done before 23 August 2024, 11.59PM.
• The registration for the spring period opens on Monday 16 December 2024 and closes on Friday 17 January 2025, the placement is made thereafter. Before the placement will be checked if you have an OlymPas and applied for the tennis course or if you're a member of TC de Uithof. Please note: this has to be done before 17 January 2025, 11.59PM.
• The registration for the summer period opens on Monday 19 May and closes on Friday 13 June 2025, the placement is made thereafter. Before the placement will be checked if you have an OlymPas and applied for the tennis course or if you're a member of TC de Uithof. Please note: this has to be done before 13 June 2025, 11.59PM.

The chance of being placed is also dependent on your availability. When you register, please make sure that the availability you forward us is correct. In case of oversubscription, lots will be drawn. If you do not get placed, this does not mean that you will be reimbursed the costs of the OlymPas as you will be able to use the pass for many other sports activities.

There are two different registration forms: one for members of TC de Uithof and one for individual athletes. Only fill in the form that applies to you.

Costs
To register for a training course, you need to have an OlymPas, which is at least valid during the complete course period.

Autumn 2024: 

• The Basic tennis training course can be followed once against payment of only € 36.40. If you want to practice twice a week, you have to pay an additional fee of € 97.
• Tennis training courses for advanced players require an additional € 97 for one whole training period (=16 weeks). 

Summer 2024: 

• The Basic tennis training course can be followed once against payment of only € 22.80. If you want to practice twice a week, you have to pay an additional fee of € 60.70.
• Tennis training courses for advanced players require an additional € 60.70 for one whole training period (=10 weeks).

Olympos club ladder competition

Every two weeks another match

Join the Olympos tennis ladder competition and we will arrange interesting matches at your skill level. You decide how often and on which days you are available to play. You will climb the ladder if you beat someone who is ranked above you.

How does it work?

Your first match will be based on the skill level you entered. At the start of the match round you will receive an email with the necessary match details. You then have two weeks to register the actual match result. If you wish, you can skip a match round or move a match forward to the next round. Here you can check the full match regulations. 
 

Free access with the OlymPas

Participation in the Olympos tennis ladder competition is free if you hold an OlymPas. Want to play even more often? TC de Uithof

TC de Uithof is the only student tennis club in Utrecht and, with approximately 600 members, also one of the largest in the Netherlands. TC De Uithof offers a wide range of tennis activities such as training sessions, competitions, tournaments and the club championships, all of course with lots of fun. Highlights include the introductory weekend, skiing trips and visits to Roland Garros. TC de Uithof has social club evenings each Thursday; each first Thursday of the month there is a drinks party in their favourite bar 't Pakhuis, from 9.30 PM.

Levels
Beginners as well as advanced players are welcome at TC De Uithof. Practice is given at all levels. The competition takes place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The best players of the club are invited into a selection group which regularly train on a high level. At the moment, TC de Uithof plays with four teams in the 3rd division. Do you prefer to play on a little lower level? Join our other league teams that play on Saturdays or Sundays. We have a year-round tennis season with various activities such as the winter competition, the KNLTB spring and autumn competition and condition training sessions.

Membership fees
€ 55 (excluding tennis activities, such as practice and competition)

OlymPas
To be able to play tennis you will need to purchase an OlymPas. The OlymPas costs € 160 for student in rate category A.
You will get a lot of value out of the OlymPas.

• Access to all the activities of TC the Uithof like fun-tournaments and competition. Also, a lot of social activities like ski vacations, lift weekend, monthly functions and other parties.
• You can unlimitedly use the sport facilities of Olympos. Not only tennis, but also squash, group lessons, courses and other things are included in the OlymPas (for an overview check here).
• € 6.50 discount on tennis training, only € 90.50 per training cycle (16 weeks).
• If you are a beginner, you receive an additional discount of 62.5% for your first training cycle!

Want to become a member?

If you wish to become a member of an SSC, you will have to:

• Pay membership fees to the club of your choice. The fees may differ per club. 
• Own a valid OlymPas or Sports Club Card. If you’re in rate category A an OlymPas is required. If you’re in rate category B or C, you can choose between an OlymPas or the Sports Club Card. 
• Register for free at Olympos as a member of you SSC.
