RUS

RUS is a unique club. Since its foundation on 18 September 1985, RUS has been the only rugby club in the Netherlands boasting female members only! RUS has more than 100 members who put their body and pride into battle every week on the numerous mud fields in the Netherlands. There is room for everyone in a rugby team: small, tall, fat, thin, blonde, brown, fast, slow, weak or strong... Everyone has qualities that are useful within a rugby team. Every week the prejudices are swept off the table, or actually off the field.

RUS trains on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.45 PM to 9.30 PM and plays its matches on Sundays. In September and October we have an introductory course, where you can train for a number of weeks at a reduced rate to see if rugby is something for you! So whether you have been playing rugby for years or have no idea what it entails, you can always contact us!

We have two teams. Our first team has been competing at the top of the Premier League for years and we have been national champions for five years in a row. The second team has been competing at the top of the second division for years and functions as a training team for the first, but is also for ladies who like to play rugby at a recreational level.

In addition to sports, RUS also offers many other, more social activities, especially during the third half. ODZ: No party if RUS hasn't come by! Drinking beers, international tournaments and trips, intro weekends, relaxed bars or visiting hip parties, RUS does it all!

VSRC

V.S.R.C. stands for Veterinarian Students Rugby Club, the rugby club for Veterinary Medicine students in Utrecht. Veterinary Medicine is one of the few faculties in the Netherlands with its own rugby club. The club consists of a mens and a womens team, which train every Monday evening from 7 - 9 PM on the rugby pitch of Olympos. Both teams participate in the JongheHonden / Puppy league and also play as many extra matches as possible, to gain more experience.
 
At the V.S.R.C. conviviality is central, so in addition to the training sessions and matches, various other activities are organized. Are you studying Veterinary Medicine and does rugby seem like a fun sport to you? Come and have a look, or better yet, come and train with us!

U.S.R.S.

The first U.S.R.S. team is headed by Luc Theunssens (former coach of the National Team) and participates in the top level of the first league. This U.S.R.S flagship team plays rugby at elite level. 

In addition to the sports activities, U.S.R.S. also intends to provide all members with an enjoyable – rugby-oriented – student time. Each year the club organises a trip abroad to play against a local club and to have a great time together. Cities such as Edinburgh, Napoli, Bucharest are colored amber-maroon. The club also organises drinks parties and other activities year-round, such as the Ameland Beach Rugby Festival, Skiing trip, ‘Sinterkerst’, Society dinner, the Dies Natalis (the anniversary of our club ) and much more. 

Membership of U.S.R.S. is € 110.00 per year.
