Yoga Ashtanga
Ashtanga (vinyasa) Yoga is a dynamic yoga style that provides many benefits to your mental and physical health. Ashtanga Yoga is known for a series of postures (asanas). The fixed order of these postures has been determined in such a way that each posture is a preparation to the next posture. The postures are fluently connected through combinations of breathing and movement (vinyasas). As there are no breaks between the various positions they result in a certain ‘flow’.
In addition, there are three major elements that are being applied during Ashtanga Yoga:
- Breath control (ujjayi)
- A focal point for your eyes (dristhi)
- Internal energy control (bandhas)
