Olympic Weightlifting
Do you want to increase your strength? Join the Olympic Weightlifting class! The popularity of weightlifting, both for women and men, has explosively grown over the past few years. The weightlifting motions have become a standard element in (sport-oriented) strength training and many a cross-fitness workout. This class fits in closely with various training objectives, from improving your general fitness and strength to competitive sports performances.
Weightlifting is an Olympic sport and consists of two elements: the Snatch, when you lift the barbell from the ground to overhead in one continuous motion, and the Clean & Jerk, when you first lift the barbell to your shoulders and then to the position above your head.
Beginner
In 10 weeks, this course will teach you the basics of both the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk. In order to support these movements, you will also increase your strength by practicing exercises such as squats, dead lifts and the overhead press.
The weightlifting course is open to everyone who is interested in weightlifting and has none or some experience with the sport.
Advanced
Have you been practicing weightlifting for a quite some time and are you eager to make more progress and improve your technique, then choose the advanced course! Under supervision of our enthusiastic and experienced trainer you’ll work in a small group on your specific goals. In 10 weeks your technique will be sharpened and you will build up to heavier weights. In this course the athletes will really have to work hard and a certain technical level is required, therefore this level is not suitable for beginners.
